In Memoriam

We often pay acknowledgements to those who are among us that were a part of our past and who made this present possible. We want also to remember those who were a part of our past and who made the present possible ... but who have graduated this life and are no longer with us. Like the faithful followers of Christ who made the first Church a reality in Antioch, these persons have had a part in helping The Congregational Church of the Valley to be a reality. Some were "founders". Others came along later and helped carry the "torch".

We are so grateful for the wisdom, insight, love and fellowship that we have known in those who precede us. Of course, at that moment, we feel that life, for us, will never have that luster again. But God has a healing touch, if we allow it. The tide, at God's bidding and beyond our control, comes and goes twice in every twenty four hours. WOW! What a God! Meditate on this little verse -- it may help you as it has me-

The tide recedes

But leaves bright sea-shells on the sand

The sun goes down

But warmth still lingers on the land

The music stops

And yet it echoes on in sweet refrain

AND, for EVERY JOY that passes SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL REMAINS
